Schloss Bröllin ist Partner im internationalen EU-Projekt Bridging the A-I-R (BtAIR), das Künstlerresidenzen in Europa stärken und nachhaltige kulturelle Mobilität fördern möchte. Gemeinsam mit fünf weiteren Organisationen aus Europa arbeitet Schloss Bröllin in den kommenden vier Jahren am Ausbau von Netzwerken, am Austausch von Erfahrungen und an der Entwicklung gemeinsamer Standards für hochwertige Residenzprogramme.
Das Projekt wurde im Februar 2026 im Rahmen des ART-IN-RES-Symposiums der tschechischen Organisation Nová síť vorgestellt. Das Symposium gilt als wichtige Plattform für den Austausch über aktuelle Entwicklungen im Bereich Künstlerresidenzen und markierte zugleich den offiziellen Start von BtAIR.
Im Mittelpunkt des Projekts stehen neue Formen der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Residenzzentren, nachhaltige Arbeitsweisen sowie die Stärkung kultureller Infrastruktur auch außerhalb großer Städte. Künstlerresidenzen leisten dabei einen wichtigen Beitrag, Kultur in ländlichen Regionen zugänglich zu machen und ortsbezogene künstlerische Projekte zu ermöglichen.
Neben Pilot-Residenzen in sechs europäischen Ländern umfasst BtAIR internationale Workshops, Symposien, Mentoring-Programme sowie den Aufbau einer europäischen Online-Plattform für Residenzprogramme und offene Ausschreibungen.
Das Projekt wird von Nová síť/ Tschechien koordiniert und gemeinsam mit den Partnerorganisationen Anténa/ Slowakei, IDRA Teatro/ Italien, Teatro de lo Inestable/ Spanien, Swing Jazz Culture Foundation/ Ungarn und Schloss Bröllin/ Deutschland umgesetzt.

Schloss Bröllin is a partner in the international EU project Bridging the A-I-R (BtAIR), which aims to strengthen artist residencies in Europe and promote sustainable cultural mobility. Together with five other organisations from across Europe, Schloss Bröllin will work over the next four years to expand networks, share experiences and develop common standards for high-quality residency programmes.
The project was presented in February 2026 as part of the ART-IN-RES Symposium, organised by the Czech organisation Nová síť. The symposium is an important platform for exchange on current developments in the field of artist residencies and also marked the official launch of BtAIR.
The project focuses on new forms of collaboration between residency centres, sustainable working practices, and strengthening cultural infrastructure beyond major cities. Artist residencies play an important role in making culture accessible in rural areas and in enabling site-specific artistic projects.
In addition to pilot residencies in six European countries, BtAIR includes international workshops, symposia, mentoring programmes, as well as the development of a European online platform for residency programmes and open calls.
The project is coordinated by Nová síť / Czech Republic and implemented together with the partner organisations Anténa / Slovakia, IDRA Teatro / Italy, Teatro de lo Inestable / Spain, Swing Jazz Culture Foundation / Hungary, and Schloss Bröllin / Germany.
