Seit 1995 findet auf Schloss Bröllin das internationale Butoh-Treffen statt, das Tanzschaffende und internationale Choreograf:innen in einem intensiven Workshop- und Kreativprozess zusammenführt. Ursprünglich als eX…it!-Festival von Yumiko Yoshioka und delta RA’i initiiert, firmiert die letzte Ausgabe, 2024, unter der Künstlerischen Leitung von Matilde J Ciria erstmalig unter BIG (Butoh International Gathering). Zum Abschluss zeigten die Teilnehmer:innen aus aller Welt in zwei öffentlichen Aufführungsblöcken Ergebnisse eines Arbeitsprozesses, der in seinem immersiven Ansatz über stilistische und konzeptionelle Unterschiede hinausgeht. Die nächste Butoh-Ausgabe wird als „Mini-BIG“ 2026 laufen. 2028 das klassische BIG.
Since 1995, Schloss Bröllin has hosted the international Butoh festival, which brings together dancers and international choreographers in an intense workshop and creative process. Originally initiated as the eX…it! festival by Yumiko Yoshioka and delta RA’i, this year’s edition, under the artistic direction of Matilde J Ciria, is being held under the name BIG (Butoh International Gathering) for the first time. At the conclusion of BIG 2024, the participants from all over the world presented the results of a working process that goes beyond stylistic and conceptual differences in its immersive approach in two public performance blocks. Next Butoh event will take place in 2026 as „Mini-BIG“, the classic Butoh version as „BIG“ will be in 2028.
