Neben der Tourproduktion GLOBAL AMAZONIA widmet sich das Grotest Maru Ensemble während des Residentaufenthalts 2024 einem Diskurs zu neuen Formaten der Site Specific Inszenierung, wie Grotest Maru diese bereits zur LANDPARTIE 2023 entwickelten. GLOBAL AMAZONIA ist Grotest Marus neuste Fassadeninszenierung. Sie wurde 2022 mit der Prozessförderung im Programm NEUSTART KULTUR in Kooperation mit dem Kleist Forum, Frankfurt/Oder als Vertikaltanz mit Live-Musik und Live-Videoprojektionen entwickelt und 2023 erfolgreich an zwei sehr unterschiedlichen Orten – der Glasfassade des Ruhrfestspielhauses in Recklinghausen und zum Kultursommerfestival in Berlin an der Fassade der ehemaligen Stasizentrale in Lichtenberg – aufgeführt.
Grotest Maru wird in der Residenz die Choreographien weiter verfeinern, Figuren herausarbeiten und Inhalte tagesaktuell weiterentwickeln, besonders bei dem brisanten Thema des Klimawandels.
Außerdem setzen sich Grotest Maru in der Residenz auf Schloss Bröllin mit neuen Site Specific Inszenierungsformaten auseinander. Wie können mit Interviewtechniken Inhalte generiert werden und diese dann als thematische Folie mit einer Landschaft in Bezug gesetzt werden? Wie kann das Publikum durch subtile Mittel Teil einer Inszenierung werden?
In addition to the tour production GLOBAL AMAZONIA, the Grotest Maru Ensemble will devote the 2024 residency to a discourse on new formats of site-specific staging, as Grotest Maru already developed them for LANDPARTIE 2023. GLOBAL AMAZONIA is Grotest Maru’s latest façade installation. It was developed in 2022 with process funding from the NEUSTART KULTUR programme in cooperation with the Kleist Forum, Frankfurt/Oder as a vertical dance with live music and live video projections and successfully performed in 2023 at two very different locations – the glass façade of the Ruhrfestspielhaus in Recklinghausen and at the Kultursommerfestival in Berlin on the façade of the former Stasi headquarters in Lichtenberg.
At the residency, Grotest Maru will continue to refine the choreographies, work out the characters and develop the content to reflect current events, particularly with regard to the controversial topic of climate change.
Grotest Maru will also be exploring new site-specific staging formats at the residency at Schloss Bröllin. How can interview techniques be used to generate content and then relate this to a landscape as a thematic foil? How can the audience become part of a production through subtle means?
